Coldplay, One Billionth Song
Apple’s iTunes music store hit one billion songs sold last night. The one billionth song that was downloaded from the iTunes music store was Coldplay’s “Speed of Sound” Alex Ostrovsky of West Bloomfield, Michigan was the lucky billionth customer. You think it’s crazy that Apple sold a billion songs…you should see what they gave Alex for being the billionth person to buy a song. He received a 20-inch iMac, Ten 60GB iPods (5 white/ 5 black) and a $10,000 iTunes music store gift card. Apparently Apple will also be setting up a scholarship to the world-famous Juilliard School of Music in New York in Ostrovsky’s name. My question is what the hell is he going to do with Ten 60GB iPods? I guess he will need them to store his $10,000 music collection. That’s a good way to build up a “legal” music library. I wonder what happens if his computer crashes and he loses all that music? Could he make an insurance claim?
