I am pretty happy, I got my Canon 40d this week with all my accessories.  I’ve been pretty busy and haven’t been able to really use it yet.  I think I might wander around today and snap some shots.  The other bonus was the mail in rebate.  When I purchased the camera I was told that I would get a $200 mail in rebate but when I went to fill it out online it was actually a $300 rebate! Even better!  I did some reading online late on Friday night to figure out how to use the Canon 580EX II flash with my existing Canon 430EX flash.  I know how to use them in a master / slave setup now.  I am anxious to try that out.  The Canon 40d is way bigger than the XT that I was used to.  I think I will only use the battery grip when I shoot events because it’s kind of big to have on the camera at all times.

I have decided that I won’t be bringing my Canon 40d to Punta Cana in 2 weeks when we go.  I don’t want to risk getting it stolen.  Maybe next year I won’t really care as much but this time I will just bring my waterproof Olympus 1030sw since it’s much smaller and will fit in the safe when I don’t have it with me.  I am starting to get pretty anxious to go on vacation now.  I’ve never been to an all inclusive resort before.  It will be nice to disconnect from the world and relax.  I might bring a paper journal to keep track of stuff.  That sounds like fun.  Day 1, drink in pool bar.  Day 2, drink in pool bar.
