Organizing iTunes

December 21st, 2007

I organized my iTunes library last night. All of my 264 songs now have their appropriate album covers. My library is mostly comprised of Matthew Good and some of the people he’s toured with like Melissa McClelland and Dala. I pulled out my Matt Good collection and was surprised with how many singles I’ve added to my collection over the years. Some of the rarest ones include Lo-Fi B-Sides and Losers Anthems 1 of 500 with the blue cover. Both of which I got signed by the one and only. Other personal favorites include Hello Time Bomb Australian release and Everything is Automatic.

Some of the singles that I am missing are Near Fantastica, Oh Be Joyful, Alert Status Red, In Love With A Bad Idea, Weapon, Carmelina, Anti-Pop, Strange Days (with black cover), Rico, Alabama Motel Room, Haven’t Slept In Years, and Symbolistic White Walls.

I am also missing all 4 of the Demo tapes that were released but only have seen them on eBay years ago for +$200 ea.

Matthew Good Live in North Bay

I have two tickets for the Matthew Good concert at the Empire Theatre in Belleville on October 30th. I am willing to give these two tickets free of charge to anyone that can make the show on Tuesday, just pay for the shipping. The tickets are in orchestra left row J. I would need to know by early Monday morning so they could be shipped out in time for the show.

Matthew Good in North Bay

October 8th, 2007

Jenn and I went to see Matt Good in North Bay, ON on Thursday. The show, as usual, was awesome! The acoustics at “The Wall” are great and the place is small which makes for an intimate setting. We were one of the first 20 people in line. We left town just after 1 pm and got to the show at around 5:30 pm. Of course as we got closer to the 8 pm mark the line got crowded and some of the people passed us. We still managed to get good seats nice and close. I took almost 300 pictures and uploaded them to Flickr. Of course I didn’t sort through them so you’ll have to skip the not so good ones.

The opening band Dala was also very good. I was pretty impressed and so was Jenn. She bought their CD and got it signed. They did a very good acapella at the end of their gig.

Matt Good hit the stage with Champions of Nothing which was awesome. I thought he would have started with “Girl Wedged Under the Front of a Firebird”. He also played some of his older stuff like Suburbia and Fated. As usual he did the guitar part of Weapon and then stopped to tell us that Weapon can’t be played on acoustic after that part. One song he didn’t play that I was hoping to hear was Metal Airplanes. That being said, hopefully I will hear it when he plays in Cobalt on November 3rd. He just announced that he will be playing in Cobalt on the 3rd so I got tickets right away since it’s only about 2.5 hours from home. Nonetheless the concert was awesome!

I couldn’t decide on what t-shirt to buy so I got both this year. I think my favorite one so far is the one that says “Nothing to Hide” on it. Jenn got the one that says “She’s in it for the money”. I managed to spend $110 on 3 t-shirts, pins, a signed poster and a Dala CD. After the concert I managed to get my LoFi B-Sides CD signed. Jenn got my online manifesto’s book signed. Oh and this year Jenn managed to get my entire body in the picture!

Here are some of the pictures that I took in North Bay. You can check out my flickr page from the links on the right to see all of them.

Matthew Good on Thursday

October 2nd, 2007

2 more days unti I get to go see Matt Good live in North Bay. The Wall in North Bay is the place where I saw him live last year and it was wicked. It was by far the best concert I’ve ever been to. The Wall is nice and small, it makes for an intimate concert. I hope he keeps booking The Wall in the years to come.

Just to make sure I got to see Matt Good this year I bought tickets for the Belleville and Guelph show as well. I just sold the Guelph tickets last week and am still trying to sell the Belleville tickets. I hope I am not stuck with them since I could use the extra cash.

I’m pretty broke and will be spending a bit of cash in the next couple days.
