Big Day for Apple

June 8th, 2009

Today was a pretty big day for Apple.  If you haven’t heard they released the new iPhone 3G S which is basically just a faster iPhone with more features.  It has longer battery life the ability to record video and a snazzy new compass.  Oh yeah and it also comes in 8gb, 16gb and 32gb format.

They also refreshed their MacBooks.  The new MacBook Pro’s include an SD card slot.  They have faster processors and lower price tags.  They all have non-removable batteries now but Apple says it will last 5 years before needing to be replaced.  The feature that I like the best is that the lower priced MacBook Pro 13″ now comes with a backlit keyboard a feature that what was only available in the higher priced model before.

Apple announced the release of Snow Leopard.  It will be available later this year and will cost $29 as an upgrade from Leopard.

iPhone users heard they news they were waiting for.  The iPhone OS version 3 will be released in less than 2 weeks.  The best part is current iPhone owners will get the update for free.  iPod Touch owners will have to pay $9.95 to upgrade.

Fore more information about all the new updates you can check out the Apple site.

Stupid keyboard

December 17th, 2008

The touch pad on my macbook is acting funny.  Nevermind it’s more than just the touch pad it’s the keyboard too. Everything is taking a crap.  Backspace stops working then erases more than what I want.

Tonight was day 2 of aquafit.  Ya, some might say that’s for girls but I don’t really care.  I wanted to try it out.  It’s actually a pretty good work out.  I think I will go again.  Tomorrow they are having it in the deep end.  Should be interesting.

This weekend I will stop procrastinating and I will wax my cross country skis.  I mean these things are brand spanking new and I can count on 1 hand how many times I’ve used them.  I think I will borrow my brothers enclosed ski rack and put it on my car for the winter. I hope my skis fit in there so I can just leave them in all the time and go cross country skiing whenever I feel like it.  I think that way I will get out there more especially since you can’t rent a locker there because they are all taken.  We’ve been getting hit with tons of snow here lately.  The ski hill opened up last weekend but only the T-bar side so that kind of sucks.  When the back opens up I will take out my snowboard and hit the hill for the day with Jenn.  She’s pretty anxious for both cross country and downhill skiing.

I should be getting my car back tomorrow sometime.  It should be all fixed up.  It’s been at the shop since last week.  They needed to order some parts to fix it all up.  I got tired of a few little things that were going on with it so I told them to fix it.  I might bring it to a car audio shop to see i they can fix the electrical wires in the door because they are busted and my power locks and windows don’t work.  The other thing that doesn’t work is the chime to tell me that my lights are on.  So now I leave them on all the time.  I’ve been lucky so far and haven’t killed my battery.

Tonight some guy came to check out my truck.  He will let me know tomorrow if he’s going to take it.  Hopefully everything goes through.  That would mean that I have one vehicle less in the yard, one less insurance policy, one less vehicle to service.  I like the truck, it’s really handy but I think it’s time to go.

Here is a picture of Jenn last night.  One of the first pictures taken with my Curve.  Jenn and I went to the opening night of Boston Pizza.  Yes we live in a small town.  We get excited about these things.

New Macbooks on Tuesday

October 9th, 2008

It’s official, Tuesday October 14th, Apple will release new laptops.  I’m pretty anxious to see what they have up their sleeve.  Of course, many pictures have already been leaked onto the net.  If the pictures are accurate the new Macbooks should make for nice little laptops.  Another rumour that I heard was that Apple might have laptops starting at $800.  That would be super cool!  It would mean that Apples market share would grow immensely.

Here is what I would like to see in the new Macbook

  • All aluminium case (99% sure this will happen)
  • Illuminated keyboard
  • Better speaker sound
  • Multi-touch keypad
  • One more USB port
  • LightScribe DVD burner (not likely to happen)
  • More affordable solid-state hard drives

I guess I will have to wait until Tuesday afternoon to see what the future brings for the Macbooks.
