2000 DVD’s on 1 disc

May 21st, 2009

This kind of blew me away today.  I was reading how researchers found a new way to burn 2000 regular DVD movies onto 1 DVD disc.  They say the new technology will be out between 5-10 years.  I guess this is a good thing since people are now using more data then ever.  It will be nice to backup all your stuff onto 1 DVD again.   I still remember the days when I had a 2GB hard drive.  Now a 4GB memory stick is small….

Killing time at lunch

January 12th, 2009

I was reading a few interesting things over lunch.

Delete 10 Facebook friends, get a free Whopper – I find it pretty funny that Burger King has actually made a Facebook app that will reward you with a free Whopper if you delete 10 of your facebook friends.  Too bad I didn’t hear of this before I did a little clean up.  Then again, do I really want to eat a Whopper……probably not.

14,528 texts in one month – I can’t imagine how sore my fingers would be after typing an average of 484 text messages a day.  I’m not sure how long the texts were but there was 14,528 regardless.  Come to think about it, I problably write quite a bit in e-mails on a daily basis.  Ok but this is text! Good thing her dad signed up for unlimited text messages.  I wonder how long her battery life is…?

Lost and found – Boeing 727

June 10th, 2008

Ok, this is strange. Who abandons a plane?  Apparently in late 2007 a Boeing 727 landed at Hanoi airport and has been unclaimed ever since.  What’s wrong with this picture?  Why are we only hearing about this now?  The worst part is the plane might have to be sent out for scrap if nobody claims it.  They think that the owners of the plane might have abandoned it since it possibly cost too much to repair. I bet there’s a huge parking ticket stuck in the wipers of that bad boy.  Maybe planes should have license plates like cars…..at least they would be able to find the owners….
