AC/DC was awesome!

This weekend was awesome.  My brother and I went to Toronto to see the AC/DC concert on Friday.  The amount of people in one place was amazing.  It’s pretty crazy to see 45000 people all in one place.  That’s the same amount of people that live in the city I live in.  Everywhere you looked all you could see were the red flashing devil horns.  It was pretty cool.

One thing that disappointed me was the fact that it said no photography on the event website but when I walked in, nobody even cared to check if I had a camera.  Trying to prevent any problems from happening I left my camera back at the hotel.  I was going to try to sneak it in but I didn’t know what type of security they would have at the gates and didn’t want to risk getting it taken away.  The picture that you are looking at was actually taken by another fan which I can’t remember who exactly.

Something else that I found strange was the fact that there was nobody checking the names on the tickets.  When I bought my tickets online I was warned to bring the same credit card that I purchased the tickets with along with a valid piece of photo ID.  There was nobody at the gate that checked the names, only one person who scanned the tickets.

Before the concert we had a few beer in our hotel.  We stayed at the Delta Chelsea along with many other AC/DC fans.  We found out when we went out on the balcony.  The Delta Chelsea is “L” shaped so you can see people on the balconies next to your tower.  A little bit lower than us were a bunch of AC/DC fans listening to their boom box blaring AC/DC tunes.  A few AC/DC screams coming from up above, down below and off to the side then a few from us.  The bad part of an “L” shaped hotel is you can see everyone on the adjacent side.  We were one of the less fortunate that got to see a fat naked women that for some reason kept walking around naked knowing that her curtains were FULLY opened and everyone could see her.  When we first seen her we were shocked and turned away so fast that it looked like we were trying to dodge an oncoming bullet.  She noticed that we looked away and all she did was stay there with her hair bikini watching to see when we would come back out to the balcony.  Maybe that women was Rosie?

Whole Lot Of Rosie

We left the hotel around 6:30pm to catch a cab to the Skydome.  The ride was long but only because of the high volume of traffic.  It was ok because our cab driver was hillarious. Once at the Skydome (Rogers Center) we walked around a bit to check out all the AC/DC merchandise which was highly priced.  Flashing devil horns were $15, T-Shirts ranged from $40-$50 and hockey jerseys were $125.  Needless to say we spent our money on beer and pizza which was $10 for a tall boy and $5 for a slice.  We were one of the lucky ones that got floor tickets.  To be more specific we were in the B2 section.  It was awesome.  The opening act didn’t make it so we waited there for a little while but it wasn’t too bad because we were pumped.  There was two older guys sitting a couple of rows in front of us.  One of them ended up puking all over himself and on the floor.  We only noticed it as we were coming back from the washroom since he was walking up the stairs full of puke.  It was pretty gross.  One of the girls he was sitting beside told us they were eating hash cookies all night.  When the concert started we didn’t stick to our section too long.  Instead we went off to the side by the stage until we were told to go back to our seats.  We stayed standing behind the “A” section for the rest of the concert without being bothered.  When Angus Young did his guitar solo we were about 20 feet from the platform that brought him up at the end of the stage.  We were really close.  It was the best guitar solo I’d ever seen.  The entire concert was very well presented.  The Rock & Roll Train came out the back of the stage during the first song and was only hidden for “A Whole Lot of Rosie” and “For Those About To Rock”.  For “A Whole Lot of Rosie” there was this huge blow up doll that masturbated on stage.  It was quite funny and scored tons of laughs from my brother and I.  “For Those About To Rock” was played for the encore and canon’s came out and fired throughout the song.  Some people complained in reviews that the sound is terrible in the Skydome but I thought it was good.  The concert was great and very well organized.  The only thing that kind of sucked is nobody cleaned the mess in isle 11.
